10 Texting Do’s and Don’ts While Dating

Texting is being used more than ever to communicate in dating.  It’s taken the lead over traditional phone calls with feisty online daters.  While texting won’t ever replace a phone call, it’s often easier and more convenient to text while at work, in public place, or even, (yes we’ve all done it) sitting on the toilet.

Texting can both increase your success, and be detrimental to your dating life, so here are some top tips for women (from a guys point of view) when considering texting your potential date.

  1. Do share your number…
  2. Don’t give out too much personal info right away…
  3. Do embrace text as a communication tool in dating…
  4. Don’t get to know each other only on text…
  5. Do ask for a couple tasteful photo’s…
  6. Don’t ask for kinky pics…
  7. Do use text to stay in touch…
  8. Don’t over-analyze every message…
  9. Do check in on the day of your date…
  10. Don’t Text Stalk…

#UPDATE#

I’ve been experiencing a couple of interesting trends with texting that I hadn’t noticed before.  Some ladies are quite keen to “Sext” but despite initiating it they very soon regret it and start to draw conclusions from the experience such as “Will he still respect me?” or “I can’t meet him now as ill be embarrassed”.  Ladies, don’t do it if you think it will ruin going on a date.  It takes a strong character to be very open with someone you haven’t yet met and then still meet them for a date.  I personally don’t see an issue with it, I wouldn’t judge a person purely on a bit of naughty chat, but bear it in mind before you jump into the saucy chat.

Dumping yourself due to a lack of immediate response.  Yes it happens, I’ve been busy, haven’t replied within say a few hours and I get a stream of texts saying things like “ohh well obviously it didn’t go as well as id thought” or “well it was nice knowing you…”.  This I’m sure happens to ladies as well as gents.  If you are not sure how things went or if then guy or girl would like to see you again, then just simply ask.  Women certainly seem to leave it up to the guy to text or call after a date. WHY? If you enjoyed yourself then say !!
